Havstjerne – enabling permanent CO2 storage at scale
Havstjerne is a large-scale offshore CO2 transport and storage project being developed on the Norwegian Continental Shelf under the EXL006 licence. Located near key industrial and port clusters in Northwest Europe, it provides emitters with permanent geological storage through flexible marine transport.
Developed by Harbour Energy and Stella Maris CCS, with SLB serving as Strategic Reservoir Partner, Havstjerne brings together leading capabilities in storage development, subsurface engineering and CCS infrastructure. The partnership combines expertise across the full value chain, from transportation and offshore injection to permanent geological storage.

Havstjerne is advancing towards FID-readiness, following the successful completion of appraisal drilling and with FEED activities now underway. The project continues to mature its technical and execution basis for future CO2 storage operations.

A key differentiator is Havstjerne's scalable floating infrastructure concept. Whilst promoting CO2 offshore transport and storage services, Havstjerne is also actively working and collaborating with operators throughout the CCS value chain in order to optimise performance and supporting phased growth in customer volumes over time.
For Stella Maris CCS and Yinson Production, Havstjerne serves as a flagship project demonstrating how integrated CCS infrastructure can connect European emitters with secure, permanent COâ‚‚ storage. While Havstjerne provides a specific storage destination, the underlying transportation, injection and infrastructure capabilities are designed to support the continued growth of the European CCS market
