Yinson is honoured for the chance to be part of the iAdvisory Seminar on Africa’s Oil & Gas Opportunities: Featuring Ghana, Nigeria, Angola and Mozambique that was held today at Little Red Dot, Enterprise Singapore Office (Bugis).
Organised by Enterprise Singapore (ESG), the iAdvisory Seminar puts together a series of industry-focused seminars where participants can learn, share and discuss key issues of doing business in specific markets. This also includes discussion on industry-specific opportunities, business challenges as well as the sharing of first-hand accounts of real market experiences and panel discussions by industry entrepreneurs and business advisors.
This recent instalment of the series focuses on African oil and gas opportunities because not only is the continent home to large oil and gas producing nations such as Ghana, Nigeria, Angola and Mozambique, Africa also currently holds approximately 7% of global oil and gas reserves. With the rebound in oil prices and fast-growing energy demand from domestic markets, exploration, production and downstream activities have picked up significantly in the region.
Therefore, beyond just providing key insights on the latest industry updates and opportunities in Africa’s oil and gas sector, this seminar also aims to help participants understand regulatory and operational challenges in the markets as well as learn from concession owners and companies on how to operate a business in Africa’s oil and gas sector.
With a strong base in Ghana’s oil and gas sector, this is where Yinson’s expertise in the area comes in handy. Yinson Production, the Operators of the Offshore Cape Three Points (OCTP) Floating Production Supply and Offloading (FPSO) unit, has contributed significantly to Ghana’s energy need and economic growth.
Yinson’s Group General Counsel Andrew Choy participated as one of the panel speakers for the seminar’s roundtable discussion on ‘Harnessing Oil & Gas Opportunities in Africa’ where he shared the legal framework and compliance with the global standards of oil and gas production.
