Yinson Production Ghana recently hosted a four-day STEM workshop for 100 Junior High School science teachers from 84 schools in the Ahanta West Municipality. Conducted in partnership with the Ghana Education Service (GES) and Youth Bridge Foundation, the workshop aimed to enhance teaching methods and inspire future STEM leaders.
The program introduced modern teaching approaches such as inquiry-based and activity-based learning, alongside training in educational technologies to create more interactive lessons. Teachers gained valuable insights into integrating practical experiments and real-world problem-solving into their curriculum, making STEM subjects more engaging for students.
Edward Mensah, Yinson Production’s Ghana Corporate Social Responsibility Coordinator, emphasized that empowering teachers is key to improving education quality and inspiring students to pursue STEM careers. Facilitators like Richard Bonney, Western Regional STEM Coordinator, also encouraged participants to adopt innovative methods and continuously refine their teaching practices.
This impactful initiative reflects Yinson Production’s ongoing commitment to advancing education and innovation in its communities. The workshop is set to become an annual project, strengthening our efforts to support STEM education and inspire the next generation.
