Yinson Production Ghana has recently doubled the recipients for tertiary educational scholarships under the Yinson Scholars Programme. The scholarship was offered to five tertiary students in 2023 and raised to 10 in the 2024 intake, bringing the total count to 15 undergraduate beneficiaries.

The Programme was inaugurated in 2019 with scholarships offered to 10 Senior High School students. The number of scholarships awarded increased over the years to now reach 25 Senior High School scholarships and 10 Undergraduate scholarships in 2024. The total number of scholarships for both Senior High School students and Undergraduates is now 80.

The programme provides scholarships to Senior High School and Tertiary students from low-income households within the Ahanta West communities. It aims to support exceptional students from Yinson’s host communities to pursue higher education. These scholarships cover Tuition fees, accommodation costs, and stipends for the entirety of the recipients’ studies.

This year, eight of the undergraduate scholarship recipients were graduates of the Senior High School level of the Programme, while the remaining two achieved excellence in their West Africa Senior School Certificate Examination, demonstrating the success and impact of the programme.

Yinson Ghana Corporate Social Responsibility Coordinator, Edward Mensah, commented, “These scholarships have removed significant socioeconomic barriers for the recipients, allowing them to concentrate on their academic pursuits. I am confident that these students will, in the near future, contribute to the betterment of their communities and extend a helping hand to those in need.”

One of the scholarship beneficiaries, Justine Arthur, expressed his gratitude, saying, “Thank you, Yinson, for this invaluable opportunity. Without your support, I would not have been able to continue my higher education.”
