Yinson Production Ghana’s “back to school programme” has successfully reintegrated 10 out-of-school children from the Ahanta West Municipality into formal education. These children, aged 6-12, from fishing and farming communities, had been out of school for over a year due to financial constraints.
The programme provides each child with uniforms, books, two pairs of shoes, school bags, money for feeding, and payment for school levies. This comprehensive support ensures the children have everything they need to succeed.
The initiative, currently a pilot study with 10 children, aims to increase the number of beneficiaries annually. Parents and guardians are encouraged to ensure their children attend school regularly, with a monitoring team in place to track progress.
Aloysius Joe Buadi, Deputy Director of Supervision and Monitoring at Ghana Education Service praised,
“Yinson Production Ghana’s commitment to promoting education in hard-to-reach areas is truly commendable. Their dedication to empowering disadvantaged communities is making a tangible difference in the lives of our children.”
Madam Lydia Amo, mother of one of the beneficiaries shared, “I’m forever grateful to Yinson for giving my daughter a second chance at education. After being out of school for two years due to financial struggles, this programme has brought hope and opportunity back to our family.”
The Yinson “back to School programme” aligns with Yinson’s goal of providing quality education in its operational areas, making a positive impact on the educational journey of disadvantaged children.
