As part of its commitment to giving back to the community, Yinson Production has added 40 new senior high school students to its existing scholarship program. This brings the total number of scholarship recipients to 100, further solidifying the company’s dedication to supporting quality education.
The new scholarship recipients were selected from schools across the Ahanta West Municipality. These students come from underprivileged backgrounds, having achieved commendable grades in the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), and demonstrated a strong desire for education.
In line with Yinson’s commitment to achieving the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG Goal 5 (Gender Equality) and SDG Goal 4 (Quality Education), 27 female students and 13 male students were chosen for the scholarship program.
Each student received a comprehensive support package, including essential items such as trunks, chop boxes, pillows, blankets, scientific calculators, school bags, shoes, mattresses, provisions, exercise books, textbooks, and stipends. This support package is designed to assist them throughout their three-year senior high school journey, with provisions and stipends presented at the beginning of every semester.
One of the scholarship beneficiaries, 15-year-old Lois Adu, expressed her heartfelt gratitude to Yinson Production. Despite facing financial challenges, Lois remained resilient and excelled academically, earning the admiration of her teachers. Her story serves as a testament to the impact of Yinson’s scholarship program in empowering young minds and fostering a brighter future.
Through this initiative, Yinson Production reaffirms its commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of young people in the communities where it operates.
