In May 2025, Yinson Production partnered with the Ghana Education Service and Ghana Health Service for the third consecutive year to deliver menstrual hygiene training to 500 basic schoolgirls in the Ahanta West Municipality. The initiative marked World Menstrual Hygiene Day under the theme Together for a Period-Friendly Ghana.
This fully sponsored programme is part of Yinson’s commitment to improving community health and education. It addresses key challenges young girls face, such as limited access to menstrual products, sanitation facilities and reliable information.
Edward Mensah, Yinson Production’s Local Content and CSR Manager, highlighted the importance of empowering girls with knowledge and resources to manage their menstrual health with dignity and confidence. Each participant received sanitary pads to help ease access barriers.
The sessions also encouraged open discussion to break stigma, supported by healthcare professionals including Madam Veronica Essuoun from the Ahanta West Municipal Health Directorate.
District Director of Education George Effah called on all stakeholders to work together in normalising menstruation and ensuring girls stay in school during their periods. Chairperson Janet Tenkorang Wiafe echoed this message, pledging her support for efforts to eliminate shame and silence around menstrual health.
Through this initiative, Yinson Production continues to support inclusive and sustainable community development in the regions where it operates.
