Yinson participated and was a key speaker at the inaugural NORWEP FPSO Forum, held at PARKROYAL on Beach Road in Singapore, on 26 May 2022.

The NORWEP FPSO forum was an in-person, by-invitation-only event designed for Norwegian Energy Partners (NORWEP) and industry collaborators to engage in high-level conversations to exchange best practices, strengthen existing relationships, and explore new partnerships to address key challenges and opportunities in the FPSO market.

The event was organised by NORWEP in collaboration with Yinson Production Offshore and ABB Singapore, with support from the Norwegian Embassy in Singapore. NORWEP is a non-profit organization funded by the Norwegian government and the Norwegian energy industry. NORWEP partner companies provide solutions and technologies in oil and gas, CCS, solar, offshore wind, hydrogen, energy systems, and hydropower, and are a driving force in the energy transition in Norway and internationally.

His Excellency Eivind S. Homme, Ambassador of Norway to Singapore, delivered the opening remarks, setting the tone for the discussion of the following agenda items:

•        Decarbonisation pathways impacting the future of FPSOs

•        FPSO market insights and opportunities in Southeast Asia

•        Managing post-COVID-19 and disruptions on project deliveries

•        Leveraging technologies and optimal financing deals for FPSOs

Paal Kleiven, our Vice President of Business Development, one of the key speakers, shared his thoughts and perspectives on decarbonisation pathways and project deliveries. He also explained why the climate crisis is such a critical issue. Later during the panel discussion, he discussed available climate change mitigation strategies, as well as Yinson’s efforts and investments in clean energy technology deployment during this period of energy transition. He emphasised the importance of mapping emissions from FPSO operations and the need for collaborative partnerships to implement emission-reduction measures.
