Yinson was honoured to once again host Malaysia Prime Minister, YAB Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim, at a dinner reception in Rio de Janeiro to celebrate the enduring strong partnerships between Malaysia and Brazil.
The event, themed ‘Partnerships for Progress, highlighted the recent achievement of first oil of FPSO Atlanta – Yinson’s third FPSO in Brazil – delivered for client Brava Energia. The milestone was celebrated as a testament to what can be accomplished through strong partnerships and a shared commitment to progress between the two countries.
Also in attendance at the event were Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry Malaysia Datuk Seri Utama Tengku Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz, Minister of Transportation Anthony Loke Siew Fook, Mr Pietro Adamo Sampaio Mendes, Secretary of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels of the Ministry of Mines and Energy, Brazil and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Petrobras, Her Excellency Daniella Ortega de Paiva Menezes, Ambassador-Designate of Brazil to Malaysia, alongside Yinson’s senior leadership, Brava Energia and representatives from Yinson’s Brazil office.
Yinson Group Executive Chairman Mr Lim Han Weng said that Yinson had invested into building three Brazilian FPSO assets, which would generate a total contracted value of over USD 12 billion until 2045 while providing energy to Brazil. “These projects are a result of close collaboration with our clients, partners, the Brazilian government, regulatory bodies and the local supply chain. It reflects what can be achieved when Malaysian and Brazilian ambition and capabilities come together.”
Acknowledging our client, Brava Energia, Yinson Production Chief Executive Officer Flemming Grønnegaard said, “Our partnership with Brava exemplifies true partnership. From design and construction to operations, we worked shoulder to shoulder, grounded in mutual respect, technical rigour, and a shared vision for value creation. Our Brazilian projects have pioneered new frontiers in offshore energy, for example in energy efficient design and low carbon technology, setting new standards of innovation in the FPSO space globally.”
Yinson had previously hosted the Prime Minister in Rio de Janeiro in November 2024, celebrating strong Malaysia-Brazil ties and Yinson’s FPSOs in Brazil.
