Yinson Ghana has donated laptops to Information Communication Technology (“ICT”) teachers from seven schools in the Ahanta West Municipality, where the company’s Takoradi base office is located. The laptops were handed over to the teachers during Yinson’s quarterly ICT training programme for ICT teachers held on 5 October 2021.

Yinson CSR Coordinator Edward Mensah explained that the laptops would help the ICT teachers to deliver quality education to the young students in the communities.

“We believe that equipping the teachers with good tools to facilitate their ICT classes can greatly enhance the effectiveness of the lessons, thereby improving IT literacy of the students in the community,” said Edward.

Yinson IT Specialist Wisdom Adjah, who delivered the training programme said, “During the training, I encouraged the teachers to take the lessons seriously as ICT has become very important globally. We are here to support them as they equip students with necessary ICT skills to help them to excel on the global playing field.”

Three head teachers from three different schools joined the ICT teachers during this training programme.

Mrs Sarah Dick, Headmistress of the Kejabril Municipal Assembly Junior High School, who spoke on behalf of the teachers thanked Yinson for the support given to their schools and promised that the laptops will be used appropriately.

In October 2020, Yinson Ghana collaborated with local community leaders to provide a modern ICT Center in the Kejebril Municipal Assembly School to cater for the practical ICT needs of the students in the area. Approximately 2000 students are impacted by Yinson’s ICT projects in the communities.
