Yinson Ghana has delivered its first Information Communication Technology (ICT) training for ICT teachers in its host communities, Kejebril and Pretea. The programme was delivered by Yinson’s IT specialist Widsom Adjah and attended by seven ICT teachers from four schools in the area.

The training, which will be held quarterly, aims to raise the ICT literacy rate in the host communities where Yinson’s asset, FPSO John Agyekum Kufuor, currently operates. In October 2020, Yinson Ghana collaborated with local community leaders to provide a modern ICT Center in the Kejebril Municipal Assembly School to cater for the practical ICT needs of the students in the area.

Mr Mensah said the training will help equip the ICT teachers with the requisite skills to educate about 3,000 students aged 10 to 16 in the host communities.

“This training is part of Yinson’s ongoing efforts to improve ICT literacy in our host communities, which kicked off with the provision of the ICT Centre last year. This is in line with our CSR mission to promote quality education and effective learning in the communities where we operate,” said Mr Mensah.

The ICT initiative is one of several other education initiatives Yinson Ghana has undertaken, including a scholarship programme and provision of an off-grid solar system to a local school.
