Yinson Production Ghana, in partnership with Elite Links Solutions, has launched an Entrepreneurship Development Programme for 400 final-year Senior High School (SHS) students in Ghana's Ahanta West Municipality.
The programme brings together students from St. Mary’s Boys SHS, Baidoo Bonsoe SHS and Sankor SHS, providing them with practical exposure to entrepreneurship, innovation and enterprise development. Designed to complement academic learning, the initiative aims to equip students with skills that will help them navigate an evolving job market while strengthening their ability to think critically, solve problems and adapt to change.
As part of the programme, students worked in teams to develop and present innovative business ideas, applying creativity and collaboration to address real-world challenges. Top-performing teams were recognised with prizes from Yinson Production Ghana.
Speaking at the launch, CSR & Local Content Manager Edward Mensah highlighted the importance of exposing young people to entrepreneurship at an early stage, noting that career pathways continue to evolve and that entrepreneurial thinking can help students identify opportunities and build resilience.
The programme also creates opportunities for further educational support. Students who demonstrate outstanding academic performance in the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) may be considered for a Yinson Ghana-funded scholarship covering tuition, accommodation and related university expenses, subject to a successful interview process.
The initiative forms part of Yinson Production Ghana’s ongoing commitment to education, skills development and creating long-term positive impact in the communities where it operates.
